GPRS Settings

To use GPRS you must configure your phone to connect to the GPRS network. The network connection uses what is referred to as an access point or APN (Access Point Name).

Many phone manufacturers will conveniently send the required settings to your phone via SMS. You can request this via the manufacturer’s website. These settings will then install automatically in your phone. Please select your phone manufacturer from the options below.

If your manufacturer is not listed above, please refer to your phone’s user guide and the manual settings section of our website.

Manual Settings
You can also enter the required settings manually. Simply enter the details below for each setting in conjunction with the information provided in your phone’s user guide. Please be aware that different manufacturers use different names for the settings but the information detailed below should enable you to set-up your phone.

Manual GPRS Settings
To set-up your phone for GPRS, simply enter the following:

Connection Name:  E-Plus Web GPRS 
Homepage:  not required
Gateway IP Address:  not required
Port:  9201 
Access Point Name:  internet.eplus.de 
Authentication:  Normal 
Login Type:  Normal (automatic) 

Session mode: 

Permanent

Session security: off
User Name:  Eplus 
Password:  gprs

The following are detailed settings for GPRS if you have a WAP v2 browser on your phone:

Connection Name:  E-Plus Web GPRS 
Homepage/MMSC-URL:  not required
Proxies:  inactive 
Data Bearer: GPRS
Access Point Name: internet.eplus.de 
Authentication: Normal 
Login Type: Normal (automatic) 
User Name:  Eplus 
Password:  gprs

Nokia

  • Visit www.nokia.com and move your cursor over ‘Phones and More’, select ‘Europe’ and then Germany from the English language menu options.
  • Select ‘Service’ and then ‘Produkt-Service’.
  • From the drop down menu in ‘Service für Mobiltelefone’ select the model number of your phone. 
    Tip! If you do not know your model number, simply remove the battery from your phone and it should be located on a label beneath the battery.
  • Click on ‘Settings’ and then ‘Standard Settings’. A new window will open. Select ‘Bedingungen Akzeptieren und Fortfahren’.
  • Click on ‘Start’.
  • You must then confirm the model number of your phone by again selecting it. Click on ‘Next’ to continue.
  • The window will change and you should select ‘Germany’ from the drop down country menu and click on ‘Next’.
  • Select ‘E-Plus’ as the network provider from the new drop down menu and click on ‘Next’.
  • The window will update again and you will be asked to enter some security data and your telephone number in the international format (this means that you do not enter the 0 before the first digits) and click on ‘Order Settings’.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions on what to do when the SMS message is received by your phone. This service will configure your phone for both MMS and GPRS.

Siemens

  • Go to www.siemensmobile.com and select ‘Customer Care Mobile Phones’, then ‘Setting Configurator’. The website by default is in English. You can at anytime change the country/language options by clicking on the drop down menu at the top of the screen.
  • From the drop down menu select the model number of your phone. Click on ‘Accept Terms and Continue’.
  • Carefully read the onscreen instructions and click on ‘Next’.
  • You must then confirm the model number of your phone by again selecting it and clicking on ‘Confirm’.
  • Select ‘Browser’ from the options and click on ‘Enter the configurator’.
  • The window will change and you should select ‘Germany’ from the drop down country menu. Click on ‘Next’ to continue.
  • Select ‘E-Plus’ as the network provider from the new drop down menu and click on ‘Next’.
  • In the ‘Bearer’ drop down menu, select ‘GPRS’.
  • Select ‘E-Plus WAP GPRS’ from the ‘Service Provider’ menu options.
  • The window will update again and you will be asked to enter some security data and your telephone number in the international format (this means that you do not enter the 0 before the first digits) and click on ‘Order Settings’.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions on what to do when the SMS message is received by your phone.

Sony Ericsson

  • Visit www.sonyericsson.com and select ‘Support’. Choose a region and a country from the list. By choosing ‘Germany’ the website language will change into German.
  • Click on Phone Setup (telefonkonfiguration).
  • From the drop down menu select the model number of your phone. Click on ‘Weiterlesen’ to continue.
  • Carefully read the onscreen instructions and click on ‘Next’.
  • You must then confirm the model number of your phone by again selecting it. Click on ‘Submit’ to continue.
  • Select ‘E-Plus’ as the network provider from the new drop down menu and click on ‘Next’.
  • Select ‘E-Plus WAP GPRS’ from the ‘Service Provider’ menu options.
  • The window will update again and you will be asked to enter some security data and your telephone number in the international format (this means that you do not enter the 0 before the first digits) and click on ‘Order Settings’.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions on what to do when the SMS message is received by your phone.

Motorola

  • Visit www.hellomoto.com and select ‘Germany’ from the drop down list. This will automatically change the language of the website into German.
  • Click on ‘More Info’ under the ‘Operator Settings’ section (Netzbetreiber-Einstellungen).
  • From the drop down menu select ‘Operator Settings’ and click on ‘Los’. Motorola will ask you to enter your email address. Click on ‘Operator Settings’ after entering your email.
  • A new window will open and you should select ‘WAP’ in the WAP section by clicking on the yellow ‘OK’ button.
  • The window will change and you should select ‘Germany’ from the drop down country menu. Click on ‘Next’ to continue.
  • Select ‘E-Plus’ as the network provider from the new drop down menu and click on ‘Next’.
  • You will then be asked to confirm the model number of your phone and the WAP provider.
  • Select ‘E-Plus WAP GPRS’ as the WAP provider.
  • The window will update again and you will be asked to enter some security data and your telephone number in the international format (this means that you do not enter the 0 before the first digits) and click on ‘Order Settings’.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions on what to do when the SMS message is received by your phone.

Samsung

  • Visit www.samsungmobile.com and select ‘Deutschland’.
  • From the red text menu on the right hand side of the screen select ‘WAP/MMS einstellungen automatisch konfigurieren’.
  • Select ‘WAP Einstellungen’ and click on ‘Weiter’ to continue.
  • The window will change and you should select your model number from the drop down menu where you see ‘Modell auswahlen’.
  • Select ‘E-Plus’ as the network provider from the new drop down menu and select ‘GPRS’ (Volumen). You will then be asked for your telephone number in the standard German format (including the first 0).
  • Click on ‘Bestatigen’.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions on what to do when the SMS message is received by your phone.
